Global Hygiène, specialized in the manufacture of single-use hygiene and wiping products since 1956, has renewed its trust in Alstef Group to replace its AGV system.
The 26,000 sqm plant located in Auxonne, near Dijon, currently has 10 production lines and manufactures nearly 30,000 tons of products per year. The company is constantly investing in new production technologies to improve performance and optimize its internal logistics. Within this framework, Global Hygiène has decided to replace its existing AGV system, which had been in service for 12 years, and to review its sizing in order to increase the site’s production capacity.
Two new palletizers, as well as two new production lines will be added and Alstef Group | BA Systèmes will install 3 latest generation GL10.1 AGVs, in order to handle all of the plant’s flows. These compact and versatile AGVs will handle the supply of empty pallet stacks to the palletizers, the evacuation of finished products to the stretch wrapping machine, as well as the storage of finished products at the stretch wrapping machine exit.
The project also includes the migration of the supervision software, in order to make the installation benefit from the latest technological evolutions developed by Alstef Group. This software suite is placed at the heart of the system and interfaces with the surrounding applications.
The start of operations is scheduled for September 2022 and will be accompanied by a complete training program for Global Hygiène teams. Designed by the Alstef Group Training Center, the course will cover the handling of the AGVs, the operation of the AGV fleet with the use of the Operating Screens interface, the management of the control system and finally, the preventive maintenance of the AGVs.
