Alstef Mobile Robotics to relocate and strengthens its industrial capabilities
Alstef Group announces plans to build a new 13,000 sqm facility at the heart of the La Janais Industrial Excellence Hub (Rennes Métropole), with delivery scheduled for September 2027.
Alstef Mobile Robotics, an Alstef Group subsidiary specialising in mobile robotics for intralogistics and airport applications, today announces the launch of its construction project at the La Janais site, located in Chartres-de-Bretagne, France.
The project includes 11,000 sqm of workshop space and 2,000 sqm of offices. The new facility is due to open in the third quarter of 2027 and will gradually bring together all of the company’s activities. For the delivery of this project, Alstef Group is working with construction company Legendre, with Linovim acting as advisor.
The new site will consolidate activities currently split between Mordelles and Pacé, with the aim of increasing operational efficiency and supporting the ramp-up of production, targeting 300 AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) per year by 2027.

The relocation will notably include:
A low-carbon building, with extensive use of structural timber (biosourced building design) and reduced operational energy consumption (PassivHaus certification), helping anticipate future RE2020 requirements;
Ergonomic spaces tailored to the needs of teams, promoting comfort and quality of life at work on a daily basis;
Improved logistics coordination between departments;
Industrial resources to support the deployment of a new generation of industrial robots developed through the “Road to 2026” R&D programme.
