Groupe ALAINÉ, a major actor in logistics, entrusted Alstef Group with the design of a conveyor network and two automated warehouses for its new 54 000 m² warehouse in Port-Saint-Louis, France. The automation of the plant meets ALAINÉ Group’s objective to support the growth of its import/export customers.
Every day, a train with nearly 1,200 pallets in specific formats enters the Port-Saint-Louis site. In order to boost the reception of goods, four unloading conveyors have been set up, each of which can unload up to four pallets.
Optimization, densification and versatility of storage being a major issue for the site, Alstef Group has deployed two automated storage warehouses and a 12,000 sqm high bay racking system, for a total of 17,000 slots. The six stacker cranes are equipped with satellites in order to reach the multi-depths levels of the warehouse, thus allowing a quick pick-up and drop-off of the goods, for a customized configuration.
The flow management is ensured by the software developed by Alstef Group, embedded in the customer software. This WCS, which optimizes the stock entry and exit according to the articles’ references, communicates directly with the customer’s ERP.
This efficient storage management system allows the loading of each container to the Great Export in just twenty minutes, via a conveyor network from the warehouse to the shipping area.
Finally, this large-scale project has been designed to accommodate a future extension, in order to sustain the activity of the ALAINÉ Group.
