A TAILOR-MADE SOLUTION FOR THE AUTOMATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF THE INTRALOGISTICS FLOWS

For this first project in 2009, Alstef Group responded to a request for an overall modernization of the production tool. Alstef Group deployed a tailored solution for the automation of handling and storage without stopping the production and shipments. The intralogistics solution included the installation of two automated warehouses, 10 fork over legs AGVs, 5 powered conveyors AGVs, two narrow aisle tri-directional AGVs, all supervised by OPAL Fleet, Alstef Group’s control system for the management and optimization of all physical and logical flows.

In parallel, the system communicates with Penta WMS which manages orders, stocks, shipments, incoming and outgoing stock, labelling, etc. Its interface with OPAL Fleet coordinates the actions of the AGV fleet.

The logistical equipment ensures the rate for all production and shipping flows and allows the site to be more responsive, to improve flow and deliver orders on a D+1 basis while guaranteeing the multi-format loads integrity.

In the paper industry, it is essential the transport of such fragile loads is fast and efficient. The AGV system, which Alstef Group deployed at Clairefontaine and for other paper industry players, is very accurate and ensures that the loads are not damaged during transport.

    AN EVOLUTIVE INTRALOGISTICS SOLUTION

In 2015, the Papeteries of Clairefontaine call on Alstef Group again to increase the storage capacity of their site. The project thus extends the workflow automation already managed by the AGV fleet of outriggers (production, shipping, workshops inter-connections) with the addition of two new automated warehouses; for the storage of format pallets and reels.

With Alstef Group, Clairefontaine has benefited from a complete logistics expertise for the analysis of the installation evolution.

The Clairefontaine Étival site is equipped since 2016 with 31 outriggers AGVs (GL), powered conveyors (CM), narrow-aisle tri-directional AGVs (GT) and counterbalanced AGVs (GFS).
