Background
Sydney Airport Terminal 2 is one of Australia's busiest domestic terminals, serving millions of passengers each year. To improve the reliability and long-term performance of the baggage reclaim operation, Sydney Airport undertook a staged replacement of six existing baggage reclaim carousels.
The Challenge
Delivering baggage reclaim upgrades in a live airport environment required careful planning and coordination. The project team worked around:

Solution

- Six replacement reclaim carousels
- Infill works
- Plinth installation
- Matting replacement
- Testing and commissioning
The staged approach enabled each carousel to be replaced while minimising disruption to airport operations and passenger services.
