Le Dauphiné Libéré modernizes its AGV system - Alstef Group

Le Dauphiné Libéré, a major regional daily newspaper with a circulation of over 200,000 in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in France, is modernizing its automated handling system for reels of paper with two new AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) from Alstef Group.

In 2005, Le Dauphiné Libéré had already placed its trust in Alstef Group for the installation of its first AGV system within its factory near Grenoble, France. Today, the company is renewing its partnership, opting for an even more powerful and scalable solution. The two new Horizontal Reel Stackers, specially designed for the paper industry, will be integrated into the OPAL software suite developed by Alstef Group.

This tailor-made system will enable Le Dauphiné Libéré’s printing center to achieve its production targets smoothly and safely. AGVs will feed and evacuate paper reels at the heart of the printing center. The new solution is accompanied by the deployment of the OPAL software suite, which supervises and optimizes the operation of the AGVs, synchronizing their movements and planning missions efficiently. OPAL also provides real-time visibility of system status, enabling operators to monitor all system operating information.

Le Dauphiné Libéré’s decision to choose Alstef Group’s AGV system illustrates the newspaper’s commitment to innovation and continuous process improvement. This new solution will enable the company to boost its operational efficiency and meet the ever-increasing expectations of its readers. Commissioning of the new AGV solution is scheduled for October 2024.
