Reception

Our autonomous robots can handle receiving flows of raw materials or packaging items, from docks to one or more buffer storages.

Package storage icon

Storage

Our driverless trucks secure the storage of all loads in your warehouse: buffer storage for lines infeed, downstream stocks of production lines to supply either order preparation or shipping docks.

Pallet transfer icon

Pallet transfers

Our automated pallet stackers manage pallets transfers between the different areas of your factory or distribution center: line supply and evacuation, manual or robotized production workshops, automated storage service (AS / RS).

Preparation of shipments

Our AGV and AMR range can manage the flows of loads from storage, order picking or directly from the production lines; our AGV systems ensure the punctuality of truck departures thanks to our supervision and our associated WMS modules.

Our AGV-AMR range

Our AGV range combines proven standard models with fully customized solutions to meet a wide range of intralogistics needs. Whether for transport, storage, high stacking or production logistics, each vehicle is designed to fit real operational constraints.

Benefits of AGV & AMR

Proven AGV & AMR projects in action

An AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) is a driverless vehicle designed to transport loads autonomously within industrial and logistics facilities. AGVs can perform a wide range of operations, including material handling and transfer, production line supply and evacuation, storage and retrieval, and outbound logistics. AGVs use different navigation and localization technologies to move safely through their environment. A fleet management system assigns missions, coordinates vehicle movements and optimizes routes according to operational requirements.

AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) are both mobile robotics technologies used to automate material flows. Historically, they have mainly been differentiated by their navigation methods and their ability to adapt to their environment. However, advances in perception, navigation and artificial intelligence are increasingly blurring this distinction. The right solution should therefore be determined primarily by the application, the loads to be handled, the operating environment, material flows and required performance.

AGVs can automate a wide range of material handling operations, including production line supply and removal, pallet and load transfers, storage and retrieval, transfers to and from automated storage systems, and outbound logistics. The vehicle type and load-handling equipment are selected according to the loads, required flows and specific constraints of the operating environment.

Choosing the right AGV depends on several factors, including the type and weight of the loads, the operations to be performed, pick-up and drop-off heights, travel distances, required throughput and site configuration. Different technologies can be used depending on the application: automated stackers for pallet transport and storage, reach truck or VNA AGVs for storage, conveyor AGVs for high-throughput flows, or compact mobile robots for smaller loads. A detailed flow analysis helps determine the most appropriate vehicle technology and system configuration to achieve the required performance.

Yes. AGV systems can be deployed in existing facilities, provided that material flows, traffic areas, interfaces with existing equipment and IT systems, and safety requirements are carefully assessed. The system can also be designed to accommodate shared environments with operators and manually operated vehicles, as well as interactions with conveyors, automatic doors, production machinery and existing storage systems.

AGVs are controlled by a fleet management system that assigns missions, optimizes routes and coordinates vehicle movements in real time. This system can be integrated with other levels of warehouse or production control to ensure seamless material flows from production through storage to dispatch. With its OPAL software suite, Alstef Group provides its own WCS and WMS solutions to manage and logistics operations. Depending on the site's architecture, the AGV system can therefore be integrated with OPAL or interfaced with the customer's existing systems, such as a WMS, ERP or MES.
